These terms cover the Bitcoin Alpha app (iPhone, Android and app.bitcoinalpha.org) and bitcoinalpha.org, run by Big Bitcoin Book LLC ("we", "us"). By using them you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. Your ticket purchase is also covered by the terms shown at checkout.
Who can use the app
The app is for Bitcoin Alpha ticket holders, crew and invited guests who are 18 or older. You sign in with the email on your ticket. Keep your sign-in links and codes to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account.
Be a good crewmate
Bitcoin Alpha works because people speak freely. When you use the app, you agree not to:
- harass, threaten, or impersonate anyone, or post anything unlawful or hateful;
- send spam, mass sales pitches, or unsolicited offers of investments through messages;
- copy the attendee list, scrape profiles, or use anyone's information for marketing;
- share what someone said in a session or in a message in a way that identifies them, without their permission;
- try to break into, overload, or reverse-engineer the service.
We can remove content, block messaging, or close an account that breaks these rules, and may refuse entry to the event.
Your content
Your profile, messages and notes stay yours. You give us only the permission we need to store them and show them to the people you choose within the app. We don't use your content for advertising, and we don't sell it.
Not investment advice
Sessions, Shark Tank pitches, attendee profiles and messages are conversations between private individuals. Nothing in the app, on the website or at the event is investment, legal or tax advice, or an offer to sell or a solicitation to buy any security. Any investment you discuss with a presenter or another attendee is solely between you and them, may be limited to accredited investors, and is at your own risk. Do your own research and talk to your own advisers.
The schedule
Sessions, times and rooms can change, and side events run by others are their responsibility, not ours. Check the app for the latest.
The service is provided "as is"
We work hard to keep the app running, but we can't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, and our total liability for any claim related to the app or website is limited to US$100. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law.
Ending your use
You can stop using the app and ask us to delete your account at any time by emailing [email protected].
Law and changes
These terms are governed by the laws of California, and disputes go to the courts of Los Angeles County, unless your local law gives you the right to bring a claim where you live. If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll update the date above and let attendees know.
