# Bitcoin Alpha

> Bitcoin Alpha is an exclusive, invite-only unconference for bitcoiners, by bitcoiners — held October 15–17, 2026 at Hotel Casa del Mar in Santa Monica, California. No keynotes, no stages, no sponsors pitching. 200 attendees set the agenda themselves across four concurrent discussion rooms.

Bitcoin Alpha does not share any information about attendees — no names, no confirmations of who is or isn't attending, and no session leaders from any year. Sessions are never recorded.

## Bitcoin Alpha 2026

- Dates: October 15–17, 2026 (Thursday–Saturday)
- Location: Hotel Casa del Mar, Santa Monica, CA (beachfront); Shore Hotel (a 9-minute walk away) hosts side events
- Capacity: 200 people, invite only

### Schedule (tentative — final times confirmed closer to the event)

Thursday, Oct 15 — Welcome Night: evening welcome drinks (~5:30 PM, location TBD), tentative poker game (~7:30 PM). Plan to arrive Thursday evening.

Friday, Oct 16 — Main Day at Casa del Mar: 8 AM breakfast; 9 AM opening, intros, and session pitches from attendees; 10 AM sessions begin across four rooms (attendee-led, open format); 12 PM two-hour lunch break; 2 PM sessions resume; 6 PM happy hour on the Shore Hotel patio; 7 PM dinner (unstructured).

Saturday, Oct 17 — Sendoff: pool party & brunch at the Shore Hotel pool, 10 AM–1 PM (weather permitting), then sendoff.

### Format

- Unconference: attendees pitch topics Friday morning and set the agenda; sessions are discussions, not presentations
- Four concurrent rooms, roughly 32 sessions across the main day; attend what you want, leave when you're done
- Fully catered Friday: breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner included
- No recordings — what's said in the room stays in the room
- No sponsorships: a small curated cohort of Bitcoin-native companies exhibits instead

### Hotels & getting around

- Hotel Casa del Mar — main venue; stay on-site to be steps from the sessions
- Shore Hotel — side-event venue, 9-minute walk or ~5-minute Waymo from Casa del Mar; attendee-exclusive rates available
- Plan on at least two nights (Oct 15 and 16); booking details and attendee discounts are on the attendee page shared with confirmed ticket holders
- Parking near Casa del Mar: hotel valet, nearby public beach lots, and metered street parking

### Tickets

- Invite only; all sales final, but tickets are transferable to another approved attendee with organizer sign-off
- A ticket includes the Thursday welcome happy hour, the full Friday unconference with all meals and side events, and the Saturday sendoff

## Bitcoin Alpha 2025 (previous event)

- Held October 16–17, 2025 at Casa del Mar, Santa Monica: 200 bitcoiners, 32 sessions, 2 days, no sponsors
- Kicked off Thursday with a happy hour at Elephante and the LA premiere of the documentary "Unbanked" at Laemmle Monica Film Center
- Friday ran sessions 10 AM–6 PM across four lounges (Great White, Bull, Mako, Orca), followed by cocktails and dinner at sunset
- Topics spanned macro & price, trading & risk, self-custody & security, real-world bitcoin products, culture & media, and frontier tech
